hi i have a silver aro around i wanna say mayb 7-8inches and lately she has been going toward the middle and bottom of the tank since i had to take the top off my tank cuz i had the eclipse top on it and the filter was not good engouh so i took it off and put a ac110 and then put clear acyrilic on top so im guessing that might be the reason cuz now she sees the openness above but i dont know and she was swiming up on top for a few days after i did that but after i turn off the lights she is swiming on top and its a 29gallon tank i know its to small but im in the process of setting up a 210 and when i bought her she was about 4inches long and nows she has basicly doubled her size and i was just using that tank as a grow out for my pbass and aro

i know i just had a few set backs that stoped me from setting it up mostly $ and time but it should be up and cycleing by next week hopefulley and is it a posiblity that the ac110 is producing a lil 2 strong of a current at the top of the tank?

I agree that it could be the clear top though the tiny tank is unlikely to be the cause seeing that the fish have started actiting strange after changing the top and the filter...
it is always stressful when the fish start acting differently all of the sudden
PS: if that is of any consolation, my two silvers swim all over tank and not only on top.
my aro seems to be doing all right she is eating market shrimp even stealling it form my other fish especially the nice big chunks just now i tossed in a nice big chunk in she didnt see it right of way but then when my yellow lab cichlid started to nibble at it then out of nowhere she just came and tried stealing it from the cichlid then the thrid try to grab it she got it and just munched on it lol.
