HI
my silver arowana has a wierd habit of chasing his tail in cirles for long periods of time. every now and then he'll lunge, actually get it and then jump into the cover because "something" bit his tail. its kind of funny to watch the first time I saw it i was laughing so hard. does anyone elses arowana do this? i don't think its a bad thing is it? he does it regardless of whether hes hungry or not. hes about 9.5" and in a 55, im looking for a larger tank right now, hell need it in a month or two. oh and at what sixe do silvers start developing drop eye?

lol mine did it topo b4.
some theory says small tank causes this... ( the see their own tail wjhile making a turn and they think its another fish. )
mine stopped now after getting a bigger tank.
About drop eye.. they can get it anytime.

he may need a wider tank, but if its really big, then just sit back and b amused.

My Aro (now it's Ethnic's Aro) chased his tail and ran away from it all the time. I think he was bored. I contanstly "enriched" his habitat so he would get bored. Try to get him a friend. Large Angelfish are good if the Aro is 8" or less I think.

Changing the tank and plants around gives him new stuff to explore and he won't be bored and resort to psychotic tail chasing.

PS My Aro always acted like a dog. He even caught his pellets in the air!
