I am a beginner into this world of aquarium. I have got 2 gouramis one is bigger than the other. It has been 2 days since I got this new aquarium. First day bigger one was chasing the smaller one. I thought they were playing but today I observed that the smaller one has turned bluish from white and she is hiding from the bigger one. The bigger one is constantly chasing her. Both are females so I don't think there is a mating issue. I am too worried about the smaller one. Please help!! I am hereby enclosing a picture of the color change in my white gourami.

Welcome aboard :)

What size is the aquarium ? Tbh you may have to rehome one of them unless your aquarium is large enough to add more plants driftwood or ornaments to break line of sight.

Its 46×30×30 cms...I have 6 neon tetra and 8 black tetra and 1 crocodile fish too...

Your aquarium is too small for both Gourami .

Did your lfs suggest all those fish for an aquarium that small if so shame on them. Your aquarium is way over stocked. I suggest just keeping the neon or Black skirts.

A aquarium 189 litres would be more realistic but the minimum to keep all your stock.

Yea...I had no idea so I jus bought them...so if I continue keeping them then will the smaller one die?

You will probably not only lose the Gourami but other fish as well because keeping water parameters Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate will be difficult to maintain with all the fish with the bioload they will produce. What type of filter are you using ? Btw I am here to help and that's all. I remember being a beginner as well.:)
