This thread is about My amazing Channa Diplo, who is about 10 inches long, who responds well with its cute look and head shaking movements while we go near it. Right now it is in a small tank 20g but Im planning to shift it to my larger 90g tank. It is growing fast and eats pretty well, 2 fishes per day.
I brought it when it was a baby about 4" from a pet shop in Calicut, Kerala, India. Also called as Indian Giant Snakehead which is the closest relative of C.Micropeltes.
This species is quite rare now in a critically endangered position. I am planning to give it better care.

Please give some comments and advices... :)

Good luck with your diplo.
Giving it the best care also mans a much bigger tank in the near future, but I´m sure you have that in mind

it'll outgrow a 90g quickly. If you already own the 90 then using it will do no harm while you save up for bigger, you'll need a new tank soon , something at least 6' long, ideally 240g+ volume ,

Hey there Yes Dilpo grow very fast, I bought mine over a year ago or just about and They have grown almost 1 inch per month. As Dev said if you have a 90 PUT IT IN THERE ASAP. It will help with growth and prevent stunting of growth. Also you wrote that your feeding 2 fishes a day, I also feed live to help keep their primal instincts active but I also feed market shrimp and haddock scallops, Massivore tablets, krill and others. Best thing for any fish is a good diet and variety is awesome so your not spending massive amounts on food lol :)IMG1772.jpgDSC04690.JPG

Nice find. Kind of unrelated but I'm not to big on snakeheads. I'm now researching to find what species to get for my first. Could someone tell me what species the blue one is on the second picture please.

Channa Diplogramma aka Giant Indian snakehead lol If you would like a smaller species I would suggest Rainbows /Stewarti. Or Gachua which both seem to be more available.
