Right now I have a few Gold fry left from the second spawn.
I have some fry from another pair growing now, but I'm not sure what's there yet.
and
I have one of my EBJD's fixing to spawn any day now, so I'll have some EBJD's in about a month.

It's most likely nerve damage or bruising. This happens occasionally to things like discus. Sometimes they heal and the coloration goes back to normal.
First time I've ever seen this.
I'll keep an eye on her & post any changes that I see.

I have heard it is attributed to nerve damage, but haven't heard it being due to bruising. I had it happen on a wild caught angel. The fish was otherwise fine in appearance, though it died suddenly a few months later. Not sure what the cause was.
Thanks for the information. This is the first time I've seen this & will be keeping an eye on her.
I don't believe that it's a crippling feature & will post any changes I see.

interesting in all things dempsey several breeders have had this occur with fins and marks..I think it looks cool
