I never really got the difference between Florida Spotted and Spotted gars. It makes no difference to me. They were labeled as Lepisosteus oculatus and hey were the only gars I could get my hands on. I got them as babies 1 year ago. They are about 13 inches long now.

lol, same with mine, bought mine as oculatus, until everyone started congratulating me with my Florida Gar....
Mine just passed the 12 " in 9 months.
