I have a 610g we are using 2 fx6 to keep the tank running. We where using our old 125 for our sump but have been unable to find a replacement to make a new sump. We are considering a 150 stock tank with K1 but I can't figure out how to configure the mechanical filtration and the how to prevent to k1 from getting sucked to the outlet for the pump. I am open to any sump setup suggestions.

This is a 150gal stock pond sump under my 300gal tank. I made the water diffuser for the end of the stock tank, and just hung a piece of egg crate with polyester filter floss on it at a downward angle and supported the bottom of the egg crate on a piece of 3/4" pvc that runs side to side and sits on the interior lip of the tub. I just put a screen on the intake for the return pump. It works great, is super easy to maintenance, and was cost effective. It's pretty loud though. If your stand is enclosed It would probably take care of the noise. Good luck!20210111_190416.jpg

What is a water diffuser? My sump is in the unfinished basement and my tank is upstairs.

It's the pvc 't' on the end of the overflow from the main tank. It spreads the water evenly over the filter floss so that it filters effectively.20210111_210218.jpg
