A couple of my super red severums are spawning. They are in a big mixed community tank with geos, other severums, and some oddballs like big bichirs, black ghost knife, a flagtail, a fire eel, and a big ole goby. I've heard horror stories of spawning fish being excessively aggressive. should I be worrying about these guys hurting my other fish? Right now these two seem to have half the aquarium to themselves, with everyone else on the other side.

They will most likely just chase them off. My greens had all my fish on the other side of the tank. They mainly just chased but they went at my rays eyes once so I got rid of them

Never bred sevs but my geos would split time protecting an area and tend to eggs, so long as nobody kept pushing the issue they focused on the eggs. I'd imagine svs would be similar.

Sevs and geos have a rep for not trying to murder everyone else even while spawning. I've seen geos just hover over the eggs and fry and only chase others away (only a 1 foot chase).

Uarus I think have the same rep. Can't speak for any from personal knowledge, but as long as there is room for others to leave them alone and as long as the others do indeed not try to eat the eggs, there should not be blood.
