I had two neon swordtails have fry bout the same time so i dont kno which fry belong to which sword. anyways most of the fry have the normalfan shaped tails, but a some of them comes to almost like aspear head like it doesnt fan. i have checked if the are just holding them closed and thats not it. so this spear shape is it a defect or just a normal mutation any help would be appreciated.

im pretty sure these fry are only bout 2 weeks old and the swords on the tail wont develop for about a couple of months. i mean the tail looks like a spike off the end of the fish the whole tail
yea.. they look healthy and all. they just have to swim a lil harder while the normal ones are cruisin. umm ill see if i canm get some pics they are small so i dont kno. ill try to get them up in a day or so. would be cool if it was a mutation tho
I would put it down to genetics, guppies have a bunch of different tail shapes, and guppies and swords are fairly simmilar (the link is on guppy tail shapes but im sure theres a page out there with swordtail shapes...if they are fairly simmilar to guppies)

Grow them out if its something that looks cool on the adults yo may have a new variant.$$$
