today i was replacing a plant my fish uprooted ... and it felt really warm

so i checked it and read 86 degrees! i know my heater is to big for my 55 but i always had it turned all the way down and it never got above 82...

i dont have money for a new heater and what would you do??

86 wont hurt your fish. Just keep an eye on it. If you have it turned all the way down and it keeps climbing, youll need a new one.

i know times are tough but if you can't spring for a heater, you might be in the wrong hobby...

i would sell something.

learn to read friend

il just use KittyKatFish1000s

LOL, learn ur own equipment my friend.
heater should be adjustable, from 76 to 96? depends on ur equipments.
rating is just as that rating..u still need to find whats work for u.
lets say the heater rated for 50 gallon and u have 20G tank, all u got to do is adjust ur heater to to lower temp.unless u have ****ty equipment:naughty:

I had a broken heater went from 95 to 65 in the winter time.
I had to manage the heat, because it took a week until I could get a GOOD heater.
I dumped ***** tons of ice in there with Prime. The spikes up and down are no good for the fish, but neither is 95.
