I moved my 125 today. The stand, which is a giant oak dresser, previously sat level on level ground. The new place is level ground, but now the dresser leans forward a bit. On the level, the bubble is all the way across the line (so one full bubble length away from where it should be).

I filled it up hoping maybe it just wasn't sinking into the carpet - this is a fluffy long fiber carpet - and it looks better to the eye, but it still isn't level.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how dangerous is this?

This is a temporary setup, but knowing me and my motivation it may end up needing to stay running for a few months. Although now that one of my FX5s died in the move (one of many things to go wrong) I suppose I'll be motivated to get a tank with a sump set up pretty quickly.

Uhh thats pretty risky man, bubble off the scale. I wouldn't want 125gallons of water on my fluffy long fiber carpet. I'd say not put it on carpet, but if you must you could jam like paper or something on under the dresser feet to even it out.

Scale from one to ten, depends on how risky you are, IMO 7-8

maybe you have the stand too close to the wall?...becuase when they lay carpet down..in a room..there's a thin wood trim..i'd say..1" thick..that is ran along the outer perimeter of the room..try moving the stand farther away from the wall..

Pretty sure paper wouldn't make a difference.

I guess I just wonder how severely different the force must be. It's maybe 1/4 inch tops difference from front to back.

Do you have some styro under it?

No. This is an All Glass that bears all the weight on the rim on the edge.

It's actually 18" away from the wall and tilted the other way. I think I misspoke. (Forgive me, I'm tired). As if the room slopes away from the center. Except the floor is level.

If you are talking about 1/4" front to back, that is nothing to worry about. Perfecto has made claims that their tanks should be able to withstand up to 1" of difference from end to end. The pressure variance is negligible.

Caught on the carpet rails?
