Currently i have 3 frontosa, 1 giant gourami and 1 RTC these are doing fine together, but i want to add 1 motoro ray, 2 datnoids (dont know what species yet) and a flagtail. Plus when i get more money i would like to get a couple peacock bass. would these mix or is it going to end brutal for the fish and my wallet? thanks

well to be honest the red tail cat will eat everything on that list, except maybe the motoro but thats still possible. get rid of the rtc and you should be fine but all depends on your tank/setup?

I see a lot of potential issues. Even without knowing the tank size: RTC will get too big for 99.9% of the aquariums out there. They eventually will need a pond of some kind. Frontosas prefer hard water while rays prefer low total dissolved solids, not a good match in my opinion due to diff water params. A motoro grows very large, what footprint is your tank? You may have aggression issues with only two datnoides. Single specimen or a group of 6 or more is recommended. It will be brutal on your pocket.

Yes that combo might will work as long as you have a 2000+ gallon aquarium or pond for them.
But i would get rid of the rtc because he will swallow every fish that can fit in his mouth.
You probably could keep the rtc as long as he is 2x smaller then the other fish. ( btw rtc get tamer as they get older ) A problem is that the rays and frontosa's like different water conditions and if your tank is to small it could result in aggression between the fish.

Post some pics of they fish when you get them.
Oh ya one more thing is that the fish will be extremely expensive, i hope you got some change in your satchel. LOL

Bad combo doesn't make any sence and won't work unless... Just won't work don't want to type all 99 problems I see here.

Your fronts will become food first because they grow so much slower than the catfish...and the other fish you want to add, unless you are going to buy large ones, will also become dinner to the cat.

When I had my rtc to put an idea on you I had him for 9 months he went from 2"-23" in that time and was literally eating a 2.2 lb bag of massivore and 2 lb of shrimp per month at roughly $75. That was just a baby. Plus I would never recommend flag tail and rays from what I've heard and seen
