I spend a good deal of time on MFK every day learning about aquaria and seeing your awesome tanks, I thought I would post some pics of mine.I'm starting with my best looking one ... my 3 foot planted tank!

Dimensions: 90x40x55 (LxWxH in cm)
4 x 30W 6700K lights, CO2

I only changed this tank to planted less than 2 months ago. I the beginning it was really crazy and lots of fish died :(
Its much more stable now though :D

Last week I cut out about 90% of the volume of plants (it was a jungle) and also removed a few plant species that I didn't like.

It has 19 cardinal tetras, 4 platies and 6 Chinese algae eaters (I think that's what they are). I'm a bit worried about them cos I wanted to get SAEs and made a mistake ... keeping a close eye on them though.

Enjoy!

Very nice! I love planted tanks with neon or cardinal tetras. They make for a good contrast. What type of substrate is that?

I'm not sure what it's called in English, but it's about 2-3mm diameter manufactred spheres ... I have about 30kgs of the stuff. It's meant to be good for letting the water circulate under the plants and also helps keep the water clean.

It's called "tao dz sa" in Chinese...

I believe your alge eaters are called flying fox.
I have a couple of those in my planted tanks too.

AFAIK flying foxes are SAEs. The reason I think they're not SAEs is that they don't have the little "protrudences" (for want of a better word) on their noses.

The pic of the CAE there is not great. Do a google image search to compare and you'll see what I mean.

Maybe Oddball or Guppy can help us out with the specifics ... ?

WOW....great set up! I have such crappy luck with plants...lol.....I love your tank!

Not bad at all. You've got to get some more cabomba, though. That single stalk in the middle of the tank looks kinda funny. Nice c. spiralis, though, and I love alteranthera.
