I never thought the day i would post this thread would come so soon. I have owned one and only one arowana and had the best one i could ask for it was very tame and always liked attention, never sketchy about people but of course spazzy sopmetimes.

I got her/him at 6" and she was 26" after a year and a half.

But last week woke up and like so many other peole have experenced found her/him on the ground next to the tank.... stiff an dry.

I will not be getting another arowana for some years probably but will find something to take her/his spot in my tank with a red tail and FH and Pbass

may be a Dorado or someother odd ball if anyone in so cal has something they tink i would love as much as Puff the magic dragon fish for sale please tell me.

My tank doesnt seem as lively or pretty with out her/him and everyone seems so bored but its ok.

As for Puff he/she is in my freezer and i am bringing her/him to a taxidermist and having her mounted and will forever have her or him on my wall.:(

i am sorry for your loss
but wasn't there a lid on the tank (was just curious)

yes seems like many dont have lids on your tanks or they are not on good enough, i have lost a few fish from that here recently, but it seems like aros are good for jumping as well. sorry for your loss

i have a heavy ass lid with a heavy light laying on it, but yes he was able to jump and knock it out of place. I HOPE and thikn he died on impact on my garage floor, since there was no sign of flopping.

that sucks even more
though you did all you could
its just pure bad luck
lets hope the next one you get has a better chance
good luck
