I got some bloodfin tetras for my sons 20 long I just picked up from PETCO. I put em in my 117 till the 20 is fully set up and cycled. I went to make sure they were all ok and eating and noticed one was missing. after looking for like 5 minutes I thought to check the overflow box and sure enough it was swimming around. This happened twice in like 15 minutes. Smh I gotta come up with a way to keep this from happening

I have a sponge filter and the media in my 117 is the blue Bio blocks. I thought a box with the blocks to pit around the sponge

Maybe one or two jumped out. They are pretty small fish so they can fit through lids.

I think they squeezed thru the slits of the intake

Why not put em all in a large breeder box net till the 20 long is cycled?

I don't have one. I put a old net and toke it off the handle and stretched it over the intake . The only thing is there is still one hole open we're the net starts.
