Well i got back from the LFS about 2 hours ago and guess what.... i bought a new fish to accompany my Texas Cichlid..... The Convict, who had been accumaliting for 15-20 minutes seemed accepted by the Tex through the plastic bag.

That soon changed once his "plastic protection" was taken away..... The Tex darted at him and collided into the Convict, he tried to fight back and i tried to save him. But the Tex who didnt want to leave his "toy" alone smacked the convict further away and rammed into it another 3 times. Thus leaving the Convict to float to the top while Tex just swam around as nothing had happend.

Well at least i now know that tank is Tex's tank.... No one is getting out alive.:WHOA:

My tex is just plain stubburn. he picks fights all the time, but everyone kicks his ass

My Texas is only 3" and his living fine with my plec although he hates any other chiclids. He hasnt show any aggresion agianst the plec.

So my conclusion is he hates any thing that he sees at a oppenant.

Im only keepin him and the plec in the tank for now and up grading next year.

wont attempt to put another fish with him.

What size tank is he in?

woow that is crazy the only time ive ever seen tht really happen is when i used to have my doviis..and they wre only small ...so i could imagine wat a texas could do lol..

Hes in a 40 gal tank for now and he is still small my catfish is 3-3.5 inches long. So i dont think the tank is to small. And i have my eye on his next tank which i will probaly get for christmas a brand spanking new 150 gal.

I was truly shocked when i saw him battering the Convict i was like " What the F...." and my catfish just swam and proably thought to himself "Thats gonna hurt in the morning".
He is eating like crazy and really enjoys his bloodworm which i mix which color enhancing pellets. He has 5 caves to himself.

If you think he is aggressive, try keeping wild caught ones. I am able to catch them in a bayou near my house, caught a 5 inch male who terrorized a 9 inch male red devil. I also had a breeding pair of wild caughts that were about 8 inches each. In a 150 gallon nothing could live with them, even plecs, which also can be caught at about 2.5ft in the bayou.
