I try keeping my datnoids with my Gatf and all hell broke lose. The dats pick and pick chasing it around non stop. Anyone keeing Dats and ATF together in harmony?

I know i had a smaller pike beat up my way bigger tarpon. They do look like baitfish i wish the gatf would just bite them one time each i bet they stop messing with him
it strange alot people on mfk find it hard just keeping 2 datnoid in a tank together with out them killing one another.My two dats fought each other at the begaining now they're fine. Something have to give i will keep trying to mix the two until it work.
How big are your dats and GATF? How big is your tank? ATF are very passive until they get to around the 7-8" mark.
Dats are 3"-5" I haven't been power feeding the Gatf he about 9". They all were in a 75 grow out. Dats are no longer with the gatf. I need to upgrade tank soon.
i've had dats with my ATF's since the beginning of my tank and never had any problems, i have about 10 dats of all different species, but they were never large enough to consider the ATF's food ..... Dats, however, are some serious predators and have a deceivingly huge mouth, so if your dat is way bigger than your ATF it could become a problem.... add a couple more dats and hopefully they'll focus on eachother and not the ATF i've heard rumor of some dats just being nasty, could be that you have one of these guys as well.... how long have the ATF's and dat been together?

Sounds like you need more room for a 9" GATF. 75 is waaay too small. Mine was 7" when I had him in a 150 and that was small.

I guess my dats are those nasty temper one they are very territorial. I put the dats with gatf for just one day the gatf was missing alot of scales from both side of it body so I pull the dats out. I love the way gatf recover quick.
