Thanks dude, now just need a HUGE tank to house these boys for life, and get them to real MONSTER size! Sounds like a lotta smelt and shrimp ...

Wish the Goonches and Dats werent in the darkest part of the tank all the time, makes it very hard to get good pics, but i love them just the same .... thanks man!! And i'd say these fish are all so awesome, worth the time and money i put in, which is a lot of both!, and i think i got a good stroke of luck as far as the timing of buying them as far as sizes and compatability. Have def lost fish, and had to sell of others, and am still looking for some additions, and a huge tank too, but right now everything seems to be going very well .... The problems i foresee are the Goonches and Vampires growing too fast and causing problems, but only time will tell ....

How is the dorado toward the tigerfish? I've heard that mix could be trouble.

How warm is the tank? I would LOVE to have a Bagarius again, but I'm terrified of killing it with the warm temps my silver fish need. Which, I might add, is essentially the same stock you have in your tank, so I'm inspired.

yeah my tigers were 8"+ when i added the vampires at 4-5" and now they are maybe not as long, but heavier than the tigers already ... it is def a fear .... the dorado was a huge problem in the beginning towards the tigers, to the point where i was going to get rid of him, but then he calmed down and now he fights the tigers no more than the tigers fight themselves, which is minor nipping and chasing when they get excited, but never causes injury ... the first week of the Dorado was scary, but has been great since then. I have a post about the Dorado/ATF problem when it was happenning. And as far as the yarelli goes, they were my biggest fear since they like colder water, but so far they're doing great. I did make some modifications to the tank for their specific needs, a darker area, open for him to move around, and most notably a water circulator with an airline zip-tied to it for a bubbly current that they love to swim directly in. They love current and i think the air bubbles work to keep them cooler. Also their growth rate is a problem, but mine have never gone after any other fish, even though at this point the one goonch could probably get my smallest tiger down, which scares me. I've heard some success stories with them in tropical tanks, and some failures. I attribute mine surviving to both luck, and trying to create a microenvironment suitable for them. Thanks guys for the questions, keep em coming. These fish, as opposed to many cichlids and others, are relatively uncharted territory as far as aquariums, so the more of us that post our experiences and ask questions, the more everyone learns. Thanks all
