As hard as my Trimac try to protect their young, the other fish are picking them off one by one. I was really surprised to see they had about 300 fry but are now down to about 50 or so. I don't have another tank to put them in right now and my wife says I'm done with buying more tanks so I guess the fry are going bye-bye to the big fishtank in the sky. :(

Here they are. They're in a 156 gallon growing out along with 3 Carpintis, 3 Argentea, a Pantostictus, a Grammodes, 3 Redhook SDs and 2 Filament barbs.

aww there cute :).
why not just go pic up a 10gallon tank

get an airstone, take some filterfloss put some biomax in it rap it around the airstone and bam you got a small in tank filter. you'd probably spend 30$ if that.
and you could raise those cute lil frt.

The money's not the issue, it's the space. I have 5 tanks now and the agreement with my wife when I got my 253 gallon is that was the last one. I can't even go get a little one. I have to abide by my promise. :(

Maybe you should get/build a tank divider for the fry and parents. Isolate them from the other tank mates.

I have eggcrate and can easily divide my tank but I hate the look of divided tanks. My tanks are all in a front showroom in my house and I want everything to look beautiful even at the cost of not being able to raise my fry. The only way I'll divide is if it's to temporarily separate a favorite fish to keep him from getting killed. I have Festae fry in a 28 gallon bowfront that are about an inch right now. Soon I'll be able sell some off to the lfs and then I'll have room for other fry. I guess for now if I'm meant to have Trimac fry some will survive. Heck the Trimac parents were only a couple of inches a month or so ago lol. They're 3" now.

hmmm that sucks
but in another couple of months that trimac pair is going to take over your tank once they get to a good 5-6"
just wait a while and you'll find room for the fry.
