My trip to the pet store! PICS

So, I went to The Pet Place down in Lancaster, PA for 1 fish. The Sunshine Pleco. I had a 25% off coupon, so I figured what the heck. I took a co-worker with me, my fiance, and for the first time.. my camera. Our bill was $150.00.

We managed to walk out with a Sunshine Pleco (25% off), a blue phantom pleco (25% off), some aquarium plants, plant food, AND a 30 lb piece of driftwood. Thank god it was pre priced. It was $30, but their normal driftwood is $6.99 a lb.

I also on a look in the back room of some Scarlet Plecos (L-25) they got in. 2 inch @ $169!

I love that place. I am glad I don't live near it or I'd be a lot poorer. They sell nearly every dimension of fish tank made(225g is the largest I've seen). Have nearly every piece of equipment you'd need. Amazing assortment of foods, decorations and live plants. And then their fish are usually in excellent condition.

I am going to Hershey next week. On the way home we are taking a detour....right there!! Been there before...love the place. BTW, what is in the pic below the bichir and above the geo's?

That's an elephant nose Cichlid. They named him Ernie. He has been there for months now, and I WISH I could have him, but I am not paying $100.

It's a great fish, but I find a lot of them to be over priced (FW fish).

Their Salt water fish are normally in GREAT condition, but today there was a whole row empty with sludge water, and several tanks with multiple fish dead. I saw 4 dead lionfish all in one tank.

On the upside, there was a woman in there walking around with a Rooster on a leash!

i was up there a few weeks ago. dont get me wrong, the place is pretty cool. but i was very very dissapointed in their variety of fish. i was expecting to see some rare fish, and i didnt. they basically had the same amount and variety of rick's fish and pet which is in frederick, md. the fish prices were a little better compared to ricks. tons of tanks (which since i learned about craigslist, will never buy used again more than likely) but their equipment was higher priced than petsmart or petco.

Woa if I was there I would have bought that fire eel, and the ornate bichir.

Sigh... the closest good pet store (The Hidden Reef) is nearly 2 hours away for me.
