My Tiger is around 10" now, I got him when he was 3" a couple of months ago.
Bought from a LFS I have not visited before after reading :
Caution, will eat smaller fish - Growth 35cm

Could help myself, loved the way he looked so took him home.

He ate my Sail fin Molly and pair of a pair of some other community fish type I'd bought to cycle the tank within a week.

Following a weekends research I found that the LFS growth estimate was a little off so found a 125G tank to house him temporally.
The tank came with 50+ community fish so the next two weeks were fine, as he continued to be well fed.

Decided then to go with some larger aggressive fish as tank mates.

Couple of Oscars later, then a rather productive trip to the local home of a dude who was moving away and wanted his Cichlid collection rehoming.

Came home with a pair of JD's, a Jag, firemouth Salmini to go with a threesome of parrot fish my wife had brought home for me.

So my tank mate issue is resolved, but now my tank is too small.

So another upgrade is needed.
200 gallon.
Still not enough but will do until I can get the info needed to build a plywood tank and I work out which to keep, which to add to the smaller tank and which to sell.

Anyway, for the last month he's not eaten, not through choice, but the Cichlids grab every scrap of grub that enters the tank, and he wouldn't eat anything other than the odd pellet that managed to reach the bottom of the tank.

Tried Pinkies, but the parrots got there first.
Tried stewing steak, but the parrots got there first.
Tried beef heart, but everyone got there first.

Finally, he's realised that if he moves higher up the tank he'll stand a better chance and has finally managed to grab a couple of prawns!

Never been able to understand how he has managed to grow so much this month, as I've not seen him eat anything but perhaps the feeders have kept him going longer than I expected.

Just hoping now he has a taste for the prawns he'll leave his tank mates alone.

But I doubt it

Really great to see you upgrading your tanks for him mate.
Nice tiger, mine destroyed my 6 corries in a week :O, finally saw him take a piece of fish last night.

And yes they grow like fish on steroids lol
