I took a few pics tonight of my turtles and their enclosures so I thought I'd share them.

First, here are pics of my two Spotted Pond Turtles (Geoclemys hamiltonii) and their respective enclosures:

The enclosure with the smaller of my two G. hamiltonii also houses four Neon Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia praecox) and a Bushy-nose Pleco. The enclosure with my larger G. hamiltonii also houses a Rhino Pleco. Both these two turtles can also be seen on the ARKive album for this species: http://www.arkive.org/black-pond-turtle/geoclemys-hamiltonii/

This is my Amazonas Form Matamata (Chelus fimbriatus) and "his" enclosure:

The 55 gallon with my smaller FRT also houses four Turquoise Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia lacustris) while the 150 gallon with my larger FRT also houses four Boeseman's Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani), four Tami River Rainbowfish (Glossolepis pseudoincisus) and three "Marci Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia hybrid).

Hope you all enjoy the pics!

Chris

Great collection Chris! I think your Geoclemys hamiltonii are my favorite though. I've always wanted to keep that species.

Come on man, I've yet to meet anyone who knows "everything" about anything. There's always more to learn, nothing is set in stone and that includes knowledge of turtles.

Great turtles I must say I love those spotted turtles. Few here keep them.

Kept like a slider, do they bask the same or mostly aquatic ? I Have only seen them on MFK site or pics. Not a turtle you see for sale in even good reptile pet stores.

very nice collection man. I am jealous.

Thats funny........Florida has the largest resident captive population of Hamiltonii in the US, if not the world........They're slowly being spread around the country though.......Being on the ESA doesn't help matters........Right now, California, Texas, and Arizona now have Hamiltonii........But it'll take years for those animals to reproduce, though some of those Californians are producing some of their own through animals un-related to those originating from here......

I didnt know that but never saw a single one. Every turtle you can think of which is native I have seen and lots of them esp during summer (babies) but not 1 spotted ever .

Do you see them ?
