After recieving much resistance about building my mega dream tank, I tried to get a large tank locally. The biggest I can get locally is 180 and it cost a fortune. I didnt want to wait on a mega tank to be shipped an built sp with the need to I needed to satisfy my instant gratification I just went and got another another 125.
The tanks, stands, heaters and filtration are identical. Sorry for the poor picture quality I suck at it. This was ALOT of work and took ALL DAY to do including 1.5 hour round trip to buy the tank.
This is the old 125, it needed to be drained and moved to the south wall 2.5 feet.
Here is the new tank I needed it to go somewhere so I threw it over here.
Minutes before before I empty this and move it... man I am not looking forward to this.
OK I got the tank drained and moved and the other one setup on the stand they are all in position.
Huge tubs of rock and the other one with the lid has the fish. I had to use a lid because they kept jumping out.
My Man Cave is a total mess.
Took forever to fill these, I kept running out of hot water..... A 6 pack helped pass the time, or was it a 12 pack?
Still working on it............................
Sweet I got once side of the basement clear of crap.........
CRAP MAN! When I was cleaning my old Eheim 2217, with out thinking I dumped the Bio media on top of the mechcanical media WITHOUT putting in the blue pad in between!
. I was so pissed I just threw that whole damn thing in the trash can!
Sooooo, $301.50 and 5 days later these arrive.
Also I ordered these Malaysian drift wood pieces from Ebay. It cost $110 for the whole lot including shipping. These pieces are all at least 24" long. They are leeching very bad, I am sure they will be soaking forever.
The tanks are not done and the outside glass is dirty but this is were I am sitting now.
This is a pic of my 75 upstairs. I made the stand myself out of 100 year old barn wood, I have a tread on here somewhere about it.
Well I that is it for now folks. The tanks are not done yet and I am not really happy with them quite yet but I am to busy to do more right now. I am building a 90g sump that BOTH tanks will share. I cant do much with the wood yet either till some leeching subsides. Until then I will have to hide out in my man cave and drink beer and watch TV. It may not look like it but it was a heck of alot of work. I apologize now for any grammar and typo's, this bottle of wine that I am working on, has already gotten the better part of me.
