Totally bummed, lost my 8" male last week, got in a scrape with a small Catfish and lodged himself in a log. I had a tough time even getting him out. Anyway, these are the two I have left, they both look like males to me. The three were all from the same batch, these two have grown kind of slowly. The bigger one is about 5-5.5" and the little I don't think has grown in six months. Please feel free to chime in about their sex and as to why the small one has not grown at all. Thanks

The bigger one does look like a male but his tail fin doesn't have a lot of spangling. Maybe its a she and she's losing it? I'm gonna guess both male as well, but some more pics would help.

The smaller one probably hasn't grown because he's not the dominant fish in the tank. Just my guess.

Thanks for the positive comments and the input as well, it's much appreciated. I'll try to post some better pics later.

Godon, good to hear from you bro. How are things going for you???? Let me think about the offer, I really like Lyonsi almost as much as Festae. Animal Guy, good hearing from you too, and thanks for your input, that's what I figured too.

Nice festaes. The small one does look female.

Some better pics to help determine the sex of these two, thanks for your help.

the small one is for sure a male. You see it's so small but got lots more pearls than the bigger one and I see no sign of black dorsal.

the big one got some female red colors coming in underneath and lacking pearls in the tail. but if you ever see blue or black at the front half of the dorsal on any of them then they r surely females. If not ever then they are males because at this stage that should be showing off and on.. And man these guys switch colors on you quick lol

I got a small female also. Been growing her since 1" a year ago. She showed the black dorsal at 4".. But I saw she was a female way before then
