My Tyre track eel feeding from my hand

I always give him he's share of food right in front of his gave and yesterday when I was feeding my fish he swam right up to me and took the food out of my hand . I only had him two weeks and never though of training him to do so, I have to admit that he was without food for 24 hours cause I wasn't home and hubby forgot to feed him. Tonight hubby tried to feed him and he simply refused to take the food. Hubby asked me what I do to my eel that he takes food from me do I hypnotize him or something. He is soooo jealous

Yeah my wife took care of my Tire track eel while i was deployed in iraq. When I came back from deployment my eel wouldn't take food from me for about a week, but would for my wife.

I started leaning over the tank and calling my fire eel before I fed (his name is Norbert). And now, even if he's not at the front of the tank already and off napping, he comes when he's called. However, he only does it for me. People think I'm kidding until I show them. I love it. Norb's is fat and 24" long and sticks his head out of the water begging for food. People can't believe this fish. Its a fun party trick, and even better proving wrong the people who tell you having a fish is stupid and boring. Have fun!!!

Voice recognition huh. I'ld believe it my both my tire tracks knew/know who I am. People always ask if they can try hand feeding them but they won't do it for them. My new guy just started taking food from my son, acidently bit his finger the last time.
