I have a 3in. long umbee cichlid that I bought 2 weeks ago. 4 days after I got him he came down with ich. I treated him and got rid of the ich. I raised the temp to 84 and treated for a week. For the last few days he and all my other fish show no spots of ich. The umbee has been eating like a pig , and swimming very active with his fins all spread open. He also chases everyone.
My concern is that he has been flashing himself for the last week. If its flukes what is the time it takes from the time of aquiring them to when it kills the fish.

What did you use to treat for ich?
Why was the fish not quarantined?

Your ich treatment process is inadequate. You should have continued at least 10 more days of treatment course prior to ich last spotted. If you are using salt, dose one tsp per gallon and add another set in next 12 hours. Last set is after another 12 hours. There are further details found in a sticky thread Freshwater Disease Guide for ich.
