I have 4 in 300 gallon tank with some other big guys. I think there is one female in the group.

Wow, how big are they? Do you notice much inter-pike aggression, or do they have a pretty stable pecking order worked out?

Oh, and the pike on the right in that pic is definitely a female. The pink belly gives it away immediately.

Vens are a little different, my male has a pinkish hue across the middle of the body, I see no white in the dorsal, I wouldn't be so sure either way on that one. They all look great!

I just got a male Venezuelan Pike around 14''. I traded a 9'' Dovii for it. Does anyone know if these are commonly known as black lined pike? Those are beautiful pikes btw.

Not sure but I think the one with the pink belly is a female. Maybe a little white along the top of the dorsal but not too noticeable. Not much aggression. I have the 4 in the tank and two alway hang out a third is generally nearby and the fourth kind of does it's oen thing but it has a bad eye so it might be staying away since it has vision issues. They are about a foot long and I have had them over a year.

I've always been told that female vens get the pinkish belly, but no white line in the dorsal. Males get a pale grey or whitish belly. But I could be misinformed, since I'm no expert.

Yes or sometimes I have seen them labled as Black Stripe.

I heard the females get a pink stomach, and male have a white or peach color. I am not aware of the fact that the females are missing the white line on the dorsal fin, but I guess you learn something new every day.
