Very much south..
This girl ( about which mouth injury a couple of months ago I already reported ) did it again.

15 days ago she struck the feeding prongs, AGAIN.

I did not notice and left her for 2 weeks unchecked ( she looked perfectly normal, even shed ).

Yesterday I was spot cleaning and was greeted by a strong gurgling noise:(

She has , again, all her right side teeth broken, has developed a Stomatitis and, due to pus draining to her lung, a Respiratory Infection.

I have her on the following regime:

- For 5 days, Anti-Inflamatory injections, subcutaneous, Meboxicam;

- Day in, day out, for 2 weeks, an antibiotic course of Marbocyl, intramuscular;

-Everyday, mouth cleaning with Chlorhexidrine (0,2% solution ) and mouth ointment with Ophtalmic Gel with Antibiotic.

Hope she makes it, but she was really on the downside.

Lesson to learn:

-AS I CONTINUOUSLY PREACH, GTP'S NEED ATTENTION EVERYDAY. YOU HAVE TO CHECK YOUR SNAKE EVERYDAY. IF YOU DO NOT DO THAT, AND SOMETHING HAPPENS, THEY GO DOWNHILL VERY, VERY, FAST.

-AVOID METAL PRONGS / TWEEZER WITH AGRESSIVE FEEDERS.

THIS ONE, FROM NOW ON ( IF SHE MAKES IT ) UPON RESUMING FEEDING, WILL BE FED WITH ME PICKING THE MOUSE/RAT BY THE TAIL. NO MORE TWEEZERS.

If she makes it, what if you use rubber tongs next time instead of your bare hand?

It is an option. The other way is to hold the food by its tail ( I see no problem there..)
