Hi, i did some searching and found little information on cleaning plastic plants without chemicals.

here is one thread as example : http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32139&highlight=cleaning+plastic+plants

i have found a great natural way to clean all kinds of things that are in my tanks.

i have a one gallon jar with about 30+ snails in it, i place whatever needs cleaning in it and wait about a week. after that i pull the plants/objects out and place in boiling water to kill any snail eggs. the objects come out looking brand new.

i also have this going in a 5 gallon bucket.

i know some will blast me but this works the best for me.

tried that, boiled for 24 hours + and it did not clean as good as the snails do.

and, to me and my family, the snails look kool!!

A great idea. I just use bleach and declorinator. Quick and easy...While im cleaning the tank i just soak in bleach water for a few min then rinse and add declorinator and back into the tank...
