Sunday we had a picnic at a local park that has a stream running through it. I took a walk around and found this piece. I'm hoping to be able to fit it past the top braces in the 125g. I'm not sure if it'll fit though. It's a little over four feet long. I haven't cleaned it or boiled it yet.

nice piece. i would cut off that whole bottom portion and just use the branchy top part. i'm too paranoid to use any wood at my local park in my tanks :)

thats the best kind of driftwood, free!:D

Yep. There are a lot of nice pieces for sale on ebay, but shipping is a killer.

I like the way the piece lays, but if I have to I'll break the bottom off. I thought about the local park aspect, but I plan on boiling it in a 55g drum.

:iagree: I would also cut off the trunk part and turn the branchy part upside down like a root/stump piece. Great find, if you can't fit in the tank, just send it to me:naughty:.

Nice piece there!

Thanks for the feedback and ideas. There are a lot I hadn't considered. I was just going to put it in the tank the way it sits. Turning it roots down will create more of a natural look, which is what I want to achieve w/ my 125g.

sweet. i have been planning on going driftwood hunting for a month now but keep running into problems getting to the "river"
