I've decided to re-design my homemade wet dry into a better homemade wet dry and picked up a plastic cabinet...drawer...whatever from walmart.

Tank is 26Lx16Wx18H. Smaller trays are 13Lx12Wx3H, and larger ones are 13Lx12Wx6H.

Each drawer/tray is drilled with a billion holes to simulate a drip tray which pours into the drawer below. The last bottom drawer has larger holes on the side to leak out into the tank.

I've tested it out and there is no clogging, but now I need some help as to what order I should place the media (at which level).

1st level = polyfiber floss/foam
2nd = scour pads/jap mat
3rd = fiber pads/open-cell foam
4th = carbon/zeolite bags
5th = 500 bio-balls
6th = 4kg ceramic rings
7th = fiber pads/open-cell foam

Thanks in advance.

I would have done the polyfiber floss in the top and then scrubbies all the way down, or bioballs if you have that many. Oh, and the carbon in the last skinny tray that is not submersed. Everything else just seems superfluous to me. Keep it simple is what I believe in.

Sounds good....But for the bio I would've went with either the scrubbies or the bioballs

i would keep the carbon up further since it needs to be changed frequently and the ceramic rings i would keep in bottom tray underwater....

all the drawers are pretty easy to take out so it's not too much of a problem
would it still be effective if i were to put the ceramic rings lying outside of the 'tower' within the wet/dry?
