In my experience old males will develop one. I've only seen them on large ancient looking cons though.

Do you think it will get bigger or will he grow into it?
"Normal" cichlids don't get huge ones like a flowerhorn. But it will grow some with the fishes age and dominance. Nice con!

I had a large 6" male that had a nice hump (for a Convict). As some of the others have said, it's usually something that doesn't develop until they're a bit older (if it even develops at all). Below, a pic of my old male in a 55G a couple of years back.
He didnt have a bump until recently when I added the new fish. This is a pic a week before. How old would he be then? I got him at 1" a month ago.
Both of the males I've kept grew Koks.
They only seem to keep them for a while tho in my experience, like when they store energy for breeding.
