TEXAS
Caught this big TX male a while back along with the TX female that I had previously posted. The female was the victim of a wife beating by this guy so she's no longer with us. The male however is doing good and starting to act like a Male TX should; uprooting all plants (plastic and real), beating up other fish, etc. etc. etc. Anyway here he is. The picture is not as good as I would have wished but it's a picture none-the-less...

AWSOME!!! how big is he??
We caught around 14 of them. This one was actually the third biggest that we caught. This one is about 13 inches. The biggest (my daughter caught) was around 15-16 inches and around 2+ pounds! We were actually just fishing but when we started pulling in all of these big TX cichlids, I decided that I needed to keep a pair. I wish I woulda had my camera for my daughters fish. We're heading back out there soon and I'll definately have my camera.

actually, he's lightened up a bit. He was almost black (except for the spots) when I first caught him. His hump has actually gotten a bit smaller too. :irked: He's been in the tank now for a couple of weeks and eating just fine.

Wow, gorgeous fish. Even though I have one, I know he'll never look like that...:grinno:
