Here goes pics of my new wolffish. I got him from my lfs about a month and a half ago and, compared to other wolffish, he seems VERY active. I feed him cut up shrimp and at times live goldfish. He has some growing up to do, but he's gotten about an inch bigger since I bought him.

I've been looking up all types of wolves online, but I can't seem to find an exact pic.

I thought he was a Golden Trahira at first, but they don't have a straight line from what I've seen. Also, he has red(dish) fins. I haven't heard of a Red Wolf, but that's what I've been calling him.

Enough of the spitter spatter. Here's the pics.

Looks like Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus to me.

GOLD WOLF. get some more, they're really cool when you have a few, and more active. although if you get more, get at least 2 more.

Erythrinus erythrinus is commonly referred to as "red wolffish," but yours is definitely a gold wolffish, H. unitaeniatus, as the others have correctly noted.

so far the coolest wolffish i have ever kept was a redtail, very responsive ....my true wolf was a big puss....

I owned 2 common wolffish in my day, one which was killed by an old Red Devil of mine, the other was eaten by my gator gar.

This one is definitely more active and very personable. Whenever I come near the tank, he comes right up to the side and swims around, roughing up the marbles.

I call him my legal snakehead, without all the grace and beauty. ;)
