Guess who just sent Jeff Rapps an email about placing an order for 2 thin bar red hooks and 1 red hook? (I'm a bit excited and had to tell someone, heh')
Unfortunately I just got a response from Jeff letting me know he is out of the regular red hooks.
I think instead of going through Rapps I might just pick up 8 Mylossoma Dureventre. Any thoughts? Think they will school just as well with my SD that is already in the tank?... I really don't know much about these fish and I'm actually having a very hard time finding detailed information on them on the internet.
i think i might have that species, even though they are small,
i know they are a mylossoma sp.
i hear the mylossoma sp. grow larger than regular SD's, like more than 8 inches. here is a link i found on youtube of someone's tank containing some: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svkOU7D-S50
Some species of Mylossoma can get up to foot in lenth. They will elongate and be less of a disc shape as they grow. They are fished and consumed by the locals in South America.
Any sd will school together no promblem. I have 2 thinned barred in my 85 and they are 6 inches and too cool. I like your redhook interested in selling the beast?
That's one of Jeff Rapp's Red Hooks and I tried to buy him myself but he's already sold and Jeff doesn't have any plans on getting any soon is what I was told.
I did get 8 Mylossoma Dureventre that I received this morning from snookn21. They are quarter sized and my O already had one for lunch so I've moved the other 7 into a 90 gallon to grow out before I move them back in.
