Hello MFK,
i recently got a fish that resembles a silver dollar but it has a sharper nose and has stripes, it was labeled as Mylossoma, i thought it was mislabeled and was thinking it was Metynnis Fasciatus, so i bought 5 for $6.99 a piece. And now that i think about it, there is no way it's Metynnis Fasciatus, it looked very different than the ones MFK Scatocephalus got, so if someone can help me ID them that'd be real cool :)
oh, and here are some pics:

Acnodon normani?

Don't know what they look like when young though.

Definitely Serrasalminae.

You have a species of Mylossoma. They are too young for me to tell the exact type, but there about five species belonging to the genus all of which look very similiar. I have a school of seven that range in size from five to about eleven inches. They love plant matter. As they grow they will get a very shiny silver over the body and some will get a red anal fin.
