I happen to have bred some Tilapia a few months ago, but shortly removed the male after seeing the female holding eggs in her mouth. I happened to noticed today that she looks like she's holding eggs in her mouth again. The male is no longer in the tank. However, she is with all her fry, but they are all less than a 1/4" Can they reproduce without a male present? Do they hold on to the male's sperm somehow for future breeding?
