I have three types of danios in the tank. Zebra danios, giant danios and fire ring danios.

The fire rings are a new addition, they came out of QT and went into the tank about 2 weeks ago.

I pull fry the size of my eyelashes out of the filter all the time. Typically it takes about two weeks and I can tell the zebras from the giants as the giant fry grow MUCH slower.

I found this in my filter this morning. Its at least 1/3 of an inch long. Its bigger than the zebra danios fry I separated out 2 weeks ago and bigger than the giant danio fry I pulled out 8/30. Not only is it way to big to be either giant or zebra, its the wrong color! I have never had a yellowish fry before.

Could the fire rings possibly have spawned that fast and could the fry possibly grow this fast?

it looks like a Danio choprai to me

I have never owned one, so that is pretty unlikely

Has anyone managed to breed Danio kyathit? Do the fry really grow that fast?

bump?

cool find regardless of whichever danio it turns out to be. Love those surprises.
