Zonatum?? Bifasciatus?? Labriden?? Mutt?? Found this in my LFS today. It was brought in because it had too much attitude, haha. Any guesses, He was right at the front of the tank ready to take me on. cichlid1.JPGcichlid2.JPG

Body shape, and the bands across the face, eliminate labridens.

It is, then, a hybrid. My vote is Blackbelt X guttulatus. Pretty girl.

hybrid for sure. blackbelt is one part but dont know the other part.

Looks almost like a bifa with no color on its head... looks like a bifa x blackbelt to me

My old bifa had the sparkling golden fins and the same black line towards the back, but its obviously crossed with a black belt, thats where you get the white and the big dark stripe from.
