Nice little Apistogramma but he's right. I haven't seen much interest in them around the CA/SA section. Maybe there should be a dwarf cichlid forum or add them to the Angel/Discus board instead of sending people away from MFK. I bet a lot of us keep a few small tanks too.

They're actually really popular fish, but most keepers will never solely focus on them like a lot of people do with the larger Americans. On a local state forum there's a whole little cult following for the little guys, and they make absolutely stunning little addition to peaceful SA setups or planted communities because of their vivid colours.

I'm pretty confident that's a Male Apistogramma viejita.

I'd say its A.macmasteri i sure love the little guys can't decide between them or a puffer leaning them at the moment

I tried to do a Ram tank before but got bored with them.

I would probably like Apisto's better........naah, never mind.

Upon further inspection I'd be quite confident that as previously stated, it's an A. macmasteri.

yea looks to be a macmasteri, we got in about a dozen of these at my shop along with 4 or 5 other apisto groups and most of them died from ich because of the A/C :irked:

they look really nice in planted community tanks, i think im going to get a pair of viejita
