I once saw a fish looks like a pile of mud.. dark brown in color and a bottom dweller..

They called it at the LFS (Cartimar Philippines) mud fish.. I tried to google it but a different fish was known as a mud fish..

Im not sure if its the leaf fish.. please help me look for a picture of the fish im searching for.. tnx

In Australia we have an esturine Frogfish which fits your description. Batrachomoeus trispinosus. There is also a Bullrout - Notesthes robusta which is venemous but this looks more like a stonefish in freshwater.

Why dont you ask the shop for a scientific name? They will understand if you say you want to do some background research on the species.

Mudskipper?

MudPUPPY is a salamander, not a fish.

Mudskipper would be my guess. Hard to say without a pic though. I've gone to Cartimar but nothing much impressive last time I went there.:D
