mystery injury

I have a a Albino Tiger Oscar Cichlid who I just saw a couple ripped off scales on his gills that were dangling. He must have had a skirmish with another cichlid. Should I be worried about infection? What can I do to make sure he is ok?

Now he is lying down! That is a horrible sign that things are getting worse come on I need some advice!
