a continuation of the thread I posted about getting screwed over by pets inc......

I brought home 20 neon tetras, to put in my 20 gallon with an unknown midget pleco who has never grown a millimeter since i got him a year or so ago (resides at 3.5") but one day I noticed the numbers seemed to be less.
I tried counting them several times and could never seem to count more than 15. I searched all around the tank, no suicides, and I always check my water changes before i dump the waist to make sure there are no fish, and nothing. I was at a loss, where were these fish going? and each day subsequently there seemed to be less and less. till a few days ago there definitely was no more than ten in there. I thought there was no way that little pleco could be eating them...right?

Today I had the light of and my lamp next to the tank on and noticed what looked like ghost fish in the tank in front of the hob filter. then it hit me, those were not supernatural fish, they were in the HOB filter! you could just barely see them. so I took the sponge out and sure enough, 11 neon tetras were swimming around couped up in my hob filter. So whats even more puzzling is what were they living on, and how did they survive the impeller? maybe they are supernatural.... I cracked up when I looked down and saw them all in there. anyone else have this happen? I thought I was going completely mad:nilly:

With unintentional breeding sometimes I will open up a HOB to spot a few fry... plus I have lost a few juvie raspboras to a not covered canister intake.
