If you've been following my other two threads you would know that I am currently debating whether to turn my empty 125 gallon aquarium into either an mbuna community setup or a large Neolamprologus Brichardi colony. Now, I am trying to wonder whether I can mix both brichardi and mbuna. Someone else on these forums informed me that he has both types of fish in his large aquarium and they get along fine and the brichardi are not overly aggressive even as they continuously breed.
The species I was considering for the mbuna community tank were labidochromis caeruleus, pseudotropheus demasoni, pseudotropheus acei, iodotropheus sprengerae, and labeotropheus trewavasse. I know that if I intend to have a medium to large sized brichardi colony in there as well, I will have to reduce the species and number of mbuna. How about I set it up with the labs, acei, rusties, and demasoni? I know that their feeding requirements might be different but if I feed using NLS, it will cater to both their nutritional needs without resulting in bloat for the mbuna.
Lastly, I would like to know if the brichardi will be a big threat to the mbuna fry since from what I've read it appears that mbuna for the most part leave fry alone. Thanks in advance.
