In a van down by the river.
So this pair spawned last week and has fry free swimming now.
I will try and get a video up soon but for now these pics of the parents in their breeding dress will have to do.
Enjoy!

i kinda miss my breeding salvini- some vicious little bastards in mating time though. mine messed up a 15 inch jag and a 12 in flowerhorn

They sure are some nasty lil SOB's. But I love the colors on these two, the black is so intense during breeding and the blue is amazing these pics don't even really show it all.

i know what you mean- my pair were absolutly stunning. but they would fight an the male would pick on the female when they were in a 44 gallon tank by thier selves- so i moved them to my 125 with my bigger cichlids and they paired up again but the two of them would just bite chunks outta any fish that came near their side of the tank.

I want Salvini more and more, but their rep for nipping and shredding fins is keeping me away. My buddy lucked out this week and got some at an LFS that had them labeled as Jack Dempsey's for $1.79 each. A pointed them out to him and he walked away with all three. Your pair look amazing! I place their flamboyant colors right up there with breeding Festae females.

I had the single female in a 240g community for a long time before adding the male and she was not aggressive at all, don't get me wrong she was no pushover just not overly aggressive. Once I added the male and noticed they were defending together I knew it was time to get them out. Thanks for the complements!

Very Nice Pair! I use to have a pair back when I kept Freshwater.. They were and still are one of my favorite cichlids. The colors on your two are absolutley stunning and I bet there even better in person.

WOW! Just stunning. Two of the prettiest sals I have ever seen. Good luck with the fry. They are gonna be some stunners for sure.
