I figured this would be the best place to post this thread, because it includes gobies which are usually associated with blennies. So anyway, I found this video of what is claimed to be Hypsoblennius hertz (Feather Blenny) in a brackish water aquarium.
Where I live, I catch these quite often in brackish water, so that much is no surprise. However, the description claims these can live in freshwater. Has anyone ever tried this, and does it work? I seem to find claims of this semi-regularly, and I have not yet found concrete proof one way or another. I've also found the following sources:

(Judging by decor, water clarity, and gravel I assume this is freshwater)
and

Does anyone here happen to know anything about this? Please lmk.

There is a section on salinity if you scroll down. It can tolerate a large range in salinity, but still does best in high brackish/marine setups. Seems similar to many puffers/wasp fish/many gobies in that respect.
Either way a beautiful fish! I never knew it existed!

Ah well, I'm not too surprised.
One way or another, they seem to be a very underrated bottom-dweller!
I don't think my current brackish aquarium would be a good place for one (On account of a Gymnothorax tile) but I am always on the lookout for cool fish for smaller aquariums, so who knows. They are certainly much more common than the Tophat Blenny, which I have see at an LFS on two occasions.

do you mean tompot blenny? I personally dont think they would work in a freshwater setup. Common catch for me in portugal in the ocean!

Not tamper, these guys are from the Florida region. Still a brackish fish though.
