My lfs told me this catfish is a picus cat and ONLY grow to 12"... Is it true?
Doesn't look like a picus cat to me thou.

and

How much will you pay for it? ^^ (just want to make sure I didn't get rid off)

looks like a blochii catfish in the pictus family ! gets up 2 12" max and thats a beast of 1 my old 1 was 10"

I agree, looks like a blochii - Four lined pictus. I had one get to nine inches before a freak accident took him from me.

I kept him in my 6 footer with some other large clumsy cichlids. His home was a make-shift cave made of a few rocks and the bottom of a terracotta pot. While I was gone over a weekend, one of the larger fish must have bumped the base off the rocks and it trapped him underneath... Poor guy, what a horrible way to go.
