Nanacapuru (Red Shoulder Manacapuru x Rio Nanay ) Angelfish

Just wanna share this really nice cross of a Red Shoulder Manacapuru and Rio Nanay Angelfish.

They look good... I have some red shoulders I am growing out as we speak... did you cross the wilds yourself?

I did not cross these. The person who crossed these is from Bulgaria (Raiko).

Honestly I don't see it as an improvement over either of the parents.

Here's how I see this cross...they have the characteristics of both the Rio Nanay and the Manacapuru. They have the high body, the spotting and the altum-like appearance with a very pronounced nasal notch which they got from the Rio Nanay. At the same time, there was the added red coloration on it's back that they got from the Red Shoulder Manacapuru. On top of it all, the fins are full and very erect.

Again, nothing wrong with just having a Manacapuru or having the Rio Nanay in itself.

I'm in the process of importing some of these angels, together with the Bulgarian Seal Point Angelfish that I posted awhile back. Can't wait to see them in person.
