today i went to an lfs that i dont regularly go to. they had a 4 inch odo and i purchased it cuz i dont see the very often. after i brought him home i was chatting with a guy who said that fish had been there for like 10 months. he looks healthy and is eating but im afraid i just purchased an extremely stunted odo:irked: will he ever recover? is it worth keeping? was planning on putting him into 135 i just picked up, currently hes the only resident in a 55

yeah fish tend not to grow when kept at lfs, he should hopefully be fine, if he isnt showing any stunted symptoms (like enlarged eyes or structural deformities) then he should be fine, with good water and diet he should beef up faster now, but yeah i havent kept odos but from what people say on here they are slower growers, not so slow as to not grow for 10mnths, but that still gives better odds that he isnt too severely stunted and should recover nicely

cool i guess il just keep his water clean and warm and feed him well, im gonna feed what i feed my jd- cichlid gold, bloodworm, earthworm and market shrimp

yeah and just to give you an example of a fish that is doing fine now, if you search in the media thread for 12in argentea. Adhlc got that fish from a petstore when it had been there for at least a year and now a couple years later this fish is a gorgeous BEAST so i think your fish will be fine

does anyone know what kind of growth to expect with good feeding and water quality? also ive read that they are prone to bloat from too much protein, what would be some other good foods to mix with foods from my earlier post
