I've been doing some searching for the an answer to how long (roughly) will a Haitiensis grow to be. So far I've gotten mixed info, some sites say only 8"-9" and others were saying 13"

So whats the truth or close to it?

A full grown male Haitiensis can get as large as 16", females slightly smaller

Thx all, I was fairly sure that they get pretty big but I just couldnt find the facts. Its actually a little discouraging . I was hoping they would be no more than 13" as I was considering a Haitiensis in an 80 as a lone fish but 15" or 16" i think would be too big for an 80 gallon

they can get 16", slow growth, they begin there life as a herbivore and transfer to a omnivore/carnivore as they get older

male get about 15-16"
theres a few on the site.
females get around 11-12"

no expierence with the fish, apparently hard to keep without bloating!

I say get one if you want. They probably start growing quite slow once they hit 10 or 11".

Have to say these are also one of my dream fish :)

But yeah, for the time being will be too big to handle ...
